Type of Sentence


I want to explained my resume in paragraph writing class. Sentence have four type that is simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, and compound-complex sentences.

Simple Sentences


Just need one subject and one predicate. its expresses a single complete thought

example:  


  • you like pizza
  • some people like go to library
  • the cat is running fast now
Compound Sentences


2 independent clauses connected by helper word( and, while, but, or, so, for, etc..)

example:
  • I like mango but my friend like banana
  • I tried to study Biology, and my friends tried to study physics.
  • She was sad while they were happy

Complex Sentences


A complex sentence is an independent clause joined by one or more dependent clauses. A complex sentence always has a subordinator ( as, because, since, after, although, when, etc.. ) or relative pronouns(who, that, which, etc.. )

example:

  • The students are doing the homework because they will submit it tomorrow
  • Although I have been invited, I decide not to go.



Compound-Complex Sentences



A compound-complex sentence has two independent and at least one dependent clause
example:

  • I do not like the cookies that she bakes, but I still eat it.
  • Susi, who is a beautiful girl, comes from a wealthy family, but she still lives a simple life.
  • When I feel hungry and my mother is not at home, I will cook instant noodle




Componen parts sentence

  • Declarative
Declarative sentences are statements that provide some kind of information.
example : i am verry happy today
  • Introgative
an introgative sentence asks question
example: do you know him?
  • Imperative 
Imperative sentence to make a request or to give a command
example: please sit down
  • Exclamatory
an exclamatory sentence expresses overflow of the emotions. These emotions can be of happiness, wonder, sorrow, etc.
example: this is beautiful sunset
